Philosophy

Louise is a natural listener.  She has great communication skills and provides a non-threatening, supportive atmosphere for her clients.  She is a compassionate and patient teacher, focusing on the skills that will benefit her clients' lives.  Her ultimate goal is to help individuals reach a healthy state of mental well being, by helping people find relief from pain, instilling hope, and helping them rediscover joy. 

Her Practice

Louise provides psychotherapy services for people with a wide range of issues.  Generally using a cognitive behavioral approach, she provides individual therapy and group therapy.  Louise is here full time, Monday through Thursday, during daytime hours. 

Specialties

  • EMDR.  Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing.  This is a unique therapy used to treat trauma, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), effectively and quickly.

  • ADHD in adults.  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a disorder which affects cognitive thinking and attention span, interfering with the ability to focus.

  • Board of Nursing referrals for corrective action.

 

Education

Louise earned her BS in Nursing from the University of South Carolina, and her Masters Degree in Nursing in 1980 from the University of Florida.  She is a certified EMDR provider.
