Karl Olson

DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Karl Olson is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner serving adults who are struggling with mental anguish. He sees patients at least 16 years of age for mood, thought, trauma, and substance use disorders. He believes in educating clients on the intricacies of the mental health system and advocating for their recovery from a patient-centered approach. He is comfortable working with interpreters and patients from all backgrounds.


Karl earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Minnesota and has practiced in community mental health and at local university student health and counseling centers. He also worked as a Registered Nurse at Hennepin County Medical Center in the mental health emergency department. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Neuroscience Education Institute.


In his free time, he likes to spend time with his wife and son, in addition to fixing small engines, brewing beer, woodworking, and cheering for the Minnesota Twins.
