Jennifer Evans

DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Jennifer Evans, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a deep foundation in nursing and a commitment to whole-person, team-based care. Before completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Minnesota, Jennifer spent years working in high-acuity settings, including emergency departments and as a trauma nurse. These experiences shaped her ability to stay grounded, responsive, and collaborative in complex clinical situations, and continue to inform her approach to psychiatric care today.

Jennifer is a psychiatric specialist with a broad and versatile clinical knowledge base, allowing her to work effectively with individuals across a wide range of presentations. She has experience working with patients navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, autism, substance use, delusional disorders, and medically complex conditions. She is especially drawn to working with individuals experiencing socioeconomic hardship, those who find themselves on the margins of healthcare, and populations such as incarcerated individuals who often face barriers to consistent, compassionate care.

At the core of Jennifer’s practice is the belief that mental healthcare is inherently collaborative. She views each patient as an active member of their care team, alongside therapists, medical providers, and other supports, working together to understand and address the full context of a person’s life. She is also interested in innovative, integrative approaches to care, including the potential for equine-assisted therapy in partnership with occupational therapy—reflecting her broader commitment to meeting people where they are and expanding what healing can look like.
