Josie (she/her) earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Memphis and her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
She has experience working in outpatient settings, college counseling, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and residential treatment. Through this work, Josie has supported adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, and identity development. She enjoys working with adults across the lifespan and values working with college students, emerging adults, and LGBTQ+ clients.
Josie sees therapy as a collaborative space where clients can show up as they are without needing to have everything figured out first. She values building a genuine, affirming relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and supported in exploring what matters most to them. Her approach is both values-driven and practical, helping clients build skills while deepening understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the life they want to create.
She believes healing often begins with learning how to relate to ourselves with more openness and compassion, rather than judgment. Her work is grounded in helping clients move toward meaningful change and a fuller, more connected life, even in the presence of difficult emotions or uncertainty.
Josie draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices to fit each client’s individual goals and needs.
